URGENT Question about losing virginity

So, I had sex for the first time last night and it was great. The guy was awesome and there was only minimal pain. A few times he would go in at weird angle or too far too fast but then he stop and make sure I was comfortable again before proceeding. And then we found a position that gave me no pain at all. But, in the morning, we discovered A LOT of blood. I feel absolutely fine with only slight discomfort between my legs, just feels like I've used muscles I'm not used to using. Is it normal to bleed that much on your first time? He's really worried that he hurt me but I feel fine.
