I was talking about the age of consent with my family since it's an interesting topic to bring up sometimes, and apparently there's a 9 year rule in places where the age of consent is 16. Is this true? Just wondering, I thought you could just do it with anyone of ANY age for the age of consent, but it looks like I was wrong

It's normally 3-5 year rule. In most places (in USA) the age of consent is  16 but only legal if you're having sex with someone between the ages of 16-21. I've never heard of the 9 year rule & I don't think it exists. You can look up the sex laws for different places.

I dont think anywhere has a 9 year rule... in pa we have a 4 year rule but that being said if your under 18 having sex with someone over 18 (ex:16 year old with 19 year old) even tho its in the 4 years if your parents arent ok with it they can press charges... its best to just wait until your 18 if your partner is older then you

I'm not sure what you mean by 9 year rule? 
But no, you can't do it with anyone of any age until you're 18. At 16 and 17 you have a three year limit. So, if you're 16 and you're having sex with a 19 year old.. It's illegal.
