Is emotional cheating worse than physically cheating?

This is all out of curiosity. Which would you be more forgiving of? Does it depend on how long the affair went on? I think in some ways emotional is worse just in the sense that your partner is connecting with someone on a deeper, mental level, not just casual sex. What do y'all think?

Emotional for sure. To be able to have an emotional affair there has to be, manipulation, lying, sneaking around, feelings involved, I'd always wonder if they talked about our personal life, my personal life, my fears and dreams I only trusted him to know, if he smiled when he thought of her when we were together, if he thought about her while making love, if he bought her flowers for any reason and not me, if that day he was sad it's because they fought, how he acted on her birthday when he would rather be with her..... Etc etc... Even thinking about that cuts a hole in me much deeper than a drunken encounter with a random girl

At a certain point, I just don't care. You break that bond and I'm gone. There's no "it was an accident" or "it didn't mean anything" or "it won't happen again". I don't give cheaters a second chance because that trust is forever gone and how can I be in a relationship if I can't trust you?

My primary concern is for my children. If my husband were having sex with some other woman at the risk of getting her pregnant meaning that my children would have to share resources with his bastard I would be far more upset than if he just loved another woman but did nothing about it. It would still be hurtful but I could forgive that.

Can someone please clear up what exactly "emotional cheating" is? It's something I've only ever heard about on this app. I mean just emotional, without any physical aspect. Would that be just having feelings for another person?? 
If it's something like that, I think it's forgivable if my partner were to work through it with me and not act on it.

Both are terrible imo and would be grounds to leave a relationship. However, I view emotional cheating as worse because emotions are hard to control and hard to get rid of. Even though the cheater may not physically be able to love on the other person, they still think about, care about, and love him/her to an extent that it could lead the cheater to resent his/her relationship with you. Whereas physical cheating could be just a one night stand or an occasional hookup; other than the physical, there's no connection between the two people. If the two people are kept apart, the physical need may go away.

Emotions lead to actions most of the time. An emotional affair may be strung out longer for some, but this is the end result if no course correction is obtained.
