tv watching.. is it ok?

How many other infants are doing it at this age? My girl has been really watching tv a lot and it soothes her a lot. She could easily sit and watch cartoons for an hour. Usually it's cartoons and Sesame Street. (The Charlie Brown movie is her favorite) 
I like that she can stay content for long periods, but I feel guilty because it's not developmentally stimulating.
She is almost 4 months old.

Do what you got to do but you might want to google for the reasons why they don't recommend much screen time before 2 years to help make an informed decision.

Mine will watch youtube with daddy or baby Einstein. She loves music so anything that has alot she loves. I try not to let her watch too much but its constantly on. I can't have quiet lol. Don't beat yourself up I play with her for hours. I sing and read to her. I don't think it's going to hurt too much.

It gets shamed a lot but I let my daughter watch tv, she is 4 months now. I'm a stay at home mom and I'm always trying to watch my shows so the tv is on and she will try to watch it anyway.. so I just let her watch her shows now too while I make myself breakfast. I try not to let her watch too much, but she doesn't sit up on her own and barely plays with toys. She especially can't really play with them on her own yet either, so it keeps her occupied when I need it and she likes it.

I figure if she is going to watch the tv because it's on anyway then I will at least put on some kids shows for her. I live in Michigan and it's going to be cold and winter soon and she will be 5-8 months during the cold weather so there will be a lot of indoor time.. cartoons are bound to be watched!

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.. even if/when other moms do.

Lol my girl does some. She will try to roll toward the screen if I face her the other way. I try not to sit her in front of it but as a stay at home mom, if I have to get something done and that gives me 15 minutes to do it... Then I will. There is contradicting research on if it is bad or not. Research in 2011 said it is bad, research in 2015 said maybe not so bad. Do what you feel is best!

My daughter loves to look at the tv. Especially when I watch criminal minds. She likes to look at the sexy Derek Morgan. And who could blame her 😉

Mine is drawn to it but its not good for their development so we keep him away. There's a lot of research about holding off on screen time until age two.

My LO enjoys it as well. And I usually think "OK this isn't good plopping a 4 month old in front of the TV already" lol! But it does keep her busy and she often talks and blabbles to it. Sometimes she will watch for a while sometimes just a few mins

My lo does all the time. And not because I put her in front of it but if we're watching it then she is too. If she's fussy and I turn on a cartoon it does soothe her. I'm sure it's the bright colors and music. Just like everything else in life, everything in moderation. We won't be able to keep them away from TV forever!
