dating without sex?!

Hello!!! So I matched this guy on an app, we talked for a while then met. It took us 3 dates to kiss properly, then took us another 2 to kiss like where other people could see, like in a bar (I don't mean full on make out session like a normal kiss lol). Now it's been 2 months on dating in total (actually it's 3 but I went away two weeks and he went away two weeks so that's a month not counting) and we haven't even been sexual at all like when we kiss it doesn't feel as if he's getting frisky, and when we text, sexual comments end up being a laugh.. So I feel like he's a great guy but he's put himself in a friendzone, and dunno what to do or say now cause I think he's cute but only as a friend? Or perhaps if we fuck it will all go back to how I felt in the beginning? But how do I get to finally having sex? I'm very shy I wouldn't initiate anything more than a peck. Am I the problem? My girlfriends find our texting quite weird which I admit it is and they also think that having sex with him will be a weird situation... #helpasisterout 😭😂✌️
