Do you define yourself by your SO's occupation?

Based off the military wife post I saw moments ago, I wanted to know how many of you define yourselves by your significant other's job.
If someone asks what you are, do you say you're a police fiancée? Marine girlfriend? Delivery driver's wife? Cashier's partner?

Yes and no. I call myself a Marine wife, but it's not all I am and not a bragging title. I just am. Military spouses say that because the lifestyle is different and to each other to distinguish the branches. Some bad seeds use it as a bragging right, but others just say it just because. It's hard to explain why it's said other than saying it's caused by a lifestyle difference between military and not.

Fuck no, that's like a copout way of saying 'I haven't a personality or interests of my own besides my husband's occupation.' loudly and clearly! What do I care if your man is in the military? In my personal experience, people like to use the police/military wife thing to escalate their importance, or appear superior.

I'm proud and grateful for how hard my man works but I'm not gonna call myself a flow line operators wife. Lol aside from being his wife, I am my own person. Just my personal feelings.

F no. I'M way more interesting than what HE does! I run my own company, a company I started at 21, I clay shoot professionally (I have a sponsor!), I have two awesome dogs, my family is pretty cool, I've travelled the world. Why in gods good name would I lead off with what HE does when introducing myself?

No way!  My husband is an attorney but I have my own career in IT that I have worked at for 15 years and make roughly the same yearly salary amount as him.  Our careers are so different, but we both are huge nerds.  I take a lot of pride in my career and would never define myself as a lawyer's wife.  I define myself by who I am.  We don't even share the same nerd stuff, I'm heavily into sci-fi stuff and am a huge tech geek, where as he is all about comic books and old monster movies.  We had to divide parts of our house up to equally be able to display our nerd gear.

No his job doesnt define me so i will never say im a "blank"wife/gf. I am me and who i am with doesnt define me. Just like he doesnt go around saying he is a "blank" husband/bf. I am who i am to him not his job and same for him.

Married 3 years and I'm still not sure about my husband's job 😂 I know that he's a consultant and the name of his company but try asking me any further details and I'm like uhhh, ahhh, I think, uhhh...

He's explained so many times over the years that I'm too embarrassed to ask again 😬😂😂
