Anyone know the cost for second parent/co-parent adoption with base legal?

I see adoption services online for our base legal, haven't had the time to go yet, but want to get as much info before going in. Anyone do second parent adoption with base legal?

Base legal services are FREE. Here's the catch: Base legal can only advise (my husband is a JAG) for adoption services, divorces and other private issues. They will not represent you in a civilian court, especially if it's a contested adoption. (Their main job is advising commanders and representing their branch as an entity, as well as prosecuting and defending those accused of military crimes, but they try to provide extra services to our men and women in uniform).

Basically, their process will be advising you through the steps so that you can do it yourself. They'll let you know of the laws and what needs to happen in order to make the adoption possible but all the rest is on your own.

If you choose to hire a private attorney off base after that, your base legal office will advise you of potential people to contact and if it would be necessary.

If you or your SO is in the navy at least I know they will not do it.. you have to go out in town and it ranges... I know when my husband adopted my sons it Costa retainer fee of $2500 for both my children and then $100 an hour past that
