When should I take a pregnancy test?

Hi ladies!! I am a week late on my period but I took a pregnancy test on Wednesday and it came out negative (today been Saturday) could there be something wrong or should I just wait longer to take a tear. If yes how much longer? How far along were you guys when you found out you were Oregon?

You could take test today, generally waiting a couple days will allow enough of an increase in hormones especially if you were already late.
