Kissing baby on the mouth?

Am I being crazy? 
I personally wasn't raised in a household where my grandparents would kiss me on the lips and even my parents did it minimally. Well my MIL had other things to say about it...

So my MIL had made a comment about how she was going to kiss the baby all day long when she gets here and I had said jokingly "as long as its not on the mouth" and she flipped out.... saying how it was her right and such forth.

Is it wrong that I asked her not to? My husband completely agrees with me.

You could request for her to do anything you want. Excuse my language, but her "rights" don't mean shit you gave birth to that child.

She should respect what you're saying. After all it's YOUR child and not hers. I would be so disgusted if my MIL or ANYBODY kissed my baby in the mouth. The mouth is the dirtiest part of the body and it is going nowhere near my child. It better be on the cheek!!

Nope! No kissing on the mouth! Not even for me! I'd a newborn gets sick it's no fun! If baby catch the herpes virus (cold sore) it can be fatal. No mouth kissing my baby!

I'm right there with you. My mil still occasionally tries to get my husband to kiss her on the mouth and he hates it. No way would we let her do it to our daughter.

She should respect your decision as the mum buttttt as for people saying they won't be kissing there children i am 100% against this!!! I know you will all be nasty but this is my baby who I have just created and love and if I want to kiss my baby on the lips and tell them how much I love them then that's what I'm going to do!! FUCK what other people think I love my baby, i get that people think it looks wrong but unless your intentions are wrong then there's no problem!!!!!

Hellllll no. My husband and I are totally against mouth kisses from anyone including us. I just cannot find that ok.

I kissed my grandparents and parents on the lips until I was 6-7 years old. All of this "ew mouth kissing is gross" is weird in my opinion. To each their own, but people are so out of hand these days  Like when Victoria Beckham was harassed for kissing her 5 yo daughter...people need to just relax. I don't see what the big deal is.

Hell no! I tell everyone they can't kiss baby until they are old enough to say yes or no. My daughter loves giving kisses now. She is 4. When she was a baby though no one could give her kisses but me and daddy. Period. I wouldn't let anyone see her if they broke my rules. My baby my rules.

We don't do that with our son. We will not be doing that with our daughter. To me it just doesn't seem right. I have a cousin who does that with her son. It bothers me when she does it lol. In my eyes it doesn't look right, especially when she kisses him a lot on the lips. Just my opinion.
