No visitors?

Question

Anyone here not going to allow visitors in the hospital? I'm concerned because my in laws don't vaccinate their kids and I don't want to risk my infant getting sick. I don't want to be rude. They are our family but I've gone through too much to have this baby for anything to happen. I figure if I don't allow any visitors, it will be less offensive to them.

Hell no- if they haven't vaccinated their kids I wouldn't be letting them visit at all until baby is fully vaccinated. Sure it's their choice but no way their stupidity should put your child at risk of death

I'm doing the same thing. I'm not announcing anything until after we are home.

I am, only because we are asking hubbys parents to watch our son while I'm in Labour, and i plan on staying one night so i can focus on my baby and get comfortable feeding him/her before going home. But i also cant go more than a day without seeing my son, so I'm gonna let them visit and bring him in to meet his sibling, i can spend time with him and the inlaws can meet their new grandchild. But if it was my first i would say no visitors.

I haven't decided yet if I'll be allowing visitors, but I know I will not be allowing anyone who isn't up to date on their vaccinations (for at least the first six weeks, possibly longer). I've already announced this at 21 weeks and will probably send out reminders at least one or two more times.

It's totally acceptable not to allow visitors, depending on your birth you may not want to see people for a few days lol! Just let people know you'll contact them when you're ready for visitors or to give you a call a few days after to arrange a meet and greet. However if their children are unvaccinated then I wouldn't be allowing them around until baby is vaccinated and I would tell them that. Too risky to have them holding and breathing on baby not knowing what they're carrying.

I wouldn't allow any kids to visit, especially if they are not vaccinated! Limit the other visitors to immediate adult family members  (only if you want, it's your choice)!

My plan is no visitors just because I feel like it's such a crazy hectic event and I want to be able to recouperate and meet and bond with my miracle in peace and quiet with just my husband.  Everyone else can wait until we are home and settled!

A friend of our sent out a facebook post saying that they appreciated everyones support with the birth of there baby and that they would let us all know when they were settled at home and ready for visitors. It went smooth for them, just make it a well known fact early on. Thats your time to bond, everyone else can wait :)
