Menstrual bleeding for 3 weeks

I've been very heavily bleeding for 3 weeks now with no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. I'm already borderline anaemic which is cause of concern and there's history of cervical cancer and fybroids in my family. My best friend is a paramedic and is adamanent on taking me to the hospital but it's a long weekend and I feel it's just stress or something as it began a few days prior to finding out a court date for a sexual assault. I'm not sure if he's overreacting or I'm too chill about the whole thing but I literally can't wear a tampon more than an hour or two and it's getting expensive and I'm sick of ruining underwear.
