Misoprostol: taking it for a missed miscarriage
I'm recording everything that is happening during this process in hopes it will help others who are taking it. My baby had no heartbeat when I went in for my 7 week ultrasound. I had just heard it the week before. My doctor told me I could wait to miscarry, take pills to help miscarry, or do surgery. I decided to miscarry on my own. After two weeks waiting nothing happened so I have decided to take the pills. I took them this morning and here is an update to how it is going. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
7:03 Took 3 Motrin ate breakfast, water, and coffee.
7:25 Put all 4 pills of misoprostol under my tongue to dissolve. 800 mg total.
7:45 went to check in the mirror to see if pills were dissolved. Cramping is already started. Don't know if it's in my head, but I feel something.
7:55 throat hurts...feels like a sore throat, been 30 minutes since pills so I drank some water.
8:00-8:15 shivering really bad, very cold started bleeding
8:15-8:25 sitting on toilet bleeding a little. No cramps. Tissue around the size of pinky nail coming out.
8:30 in bed now and took temperature. 99.86. That explains the shivering. Feel like I need to poop but don't want to get up. Chase put down towels and old blankets in bed for me. He's amazing. Got my Gatorade and water. Still no horrible cramping like I have read about.
9:01 diarrhea! Lucky me I'm getting all the side effects. 😝 no cramping but bleeding more.
9:45 cramping starting. Just like bad period cramps. Had a string looking type tissue hanging from vagina. Had to use toilet paper to knock it off. Sitting back on toilet. Kinda having a little break down, why me? This is no fun!
10:05 passing larger clots. I feel them coming out. Size of my thumb.
