Will sex help?

So I'm getting induced on the 6th but I would really like to go into labor myself. My husband keeps telling me to have sex with him (for obvious selfish reasons) but i know sometimes it helps. I just feel like "uggghhhhhh I don't have the energy."

Semen softens the cervix. If your body isn't ready to go into labor it won't. But if your going to have sex, make sure you climax too, not just him. Oxytocin is what starts labor, and moves labor along and puts it in motion.  oxytocin is released during these intimate things such as kissing and touching and I read if you climax, and climax at the same time as your partner it's more beneficial.

I've had sex twice the last few days and it hasn't put me in labor (I'm due the 5th).  But it is proven to ripen your cervix.

With my first, my water broke unexpectedly with no warning 3 hrs after sex at 38 weeks. With this one, im almost 39 weeks and have sex every other day and still nothing. Think it helps but i think baby will come when baby is ready!
