Areola question

I'm 12 dpo I took a test today and it's negative so I don't know if i took the test to early or I'm just not pregnant. But I've noticed certain spots on my areolas are getting darker and the strange part is... the spots that are getting darker are lumpy and dry. Had this happen to anyone before????
