Is it possible to have a period and be pregnant? I've heard this is possible but I'm just curious if it really is true.

Generally speaking no. Your period is the passing of an unfertilized egg along with old uterine lining. If you were pregnant, the egg would be fertilized and implanted which tells your body to not have a period. Some women mistake implantation bleeding for their periods.

Actually monthly bleeding women think is their period is not that uncommon in pregnancy. You can still bleed every month and be pregnant and healthy. Bleeding shouldn't be as heavy, but it can be misleading. If you know you are pregnant and bleed you should get checked by your obgyn to make sure everything is ok. Women who don't know they are pregnant and aren't ttc are more likely to not know it's not period bleeding, but it happens.
