Irregular heart beat at 20 weeks??

Went to my 20 week appt the other day, doctor said the baby has a irregular heartbeat, showed me the anatomy of the heart, and said there are all 4 chambers and told me .not to worry yet, bit its hard not to worry! Has anyone else had this happen?

I actually had this happen to me last Tuesday. They made me go see a specialist that Friday and everything was fine. They said that early in the pregnancy that it could be something that happens during one visit but by the next visit has worked itself out. They didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at my Friday visit and said that they were not concerned. I was doing some reading on it and some of the articles stated that caffeine can cause the baby to have an irregular heartbeat. Not sure if you cut it out completely, but that might have played a factor. Hopefully this eases you mind a little bit.

Hasn't happened to me but I have a history of cardiac issues so I just had a fetal echo, it definitely put my mind at ease (a bit more). I have a friend that also had a fetal echo after an irregular heartbeat/moment during her anatomy scan and the fetal echo came back normal. Might be worth looking into. Good luck and try not to stress!
