Holding their belly question?

Not hating at all, just never been pregnant and never asked a pregnant woman. I've just come to notice how often pregnant woman have their hands on their stomach. In pictures, in real life, sitting, walking, laying. Just a general thing that I don't understand because I have never been in that position.

So let me know why you do it or have done it. Just trying to learn more! Thanks all!

I usually hold my belly or rub it if my baby just kicked, sometimes she'll kick and it'll hurt and rubbing it helps

In pictures it's like you're framing it to make your belly more visible for others.  And for me outside of pictures it's because I love feeling her move and kick!

I'm currently 29 weeks and it just has become a habit and it's always fun to feel the baby move

I did it all the time once I was further into my pregnancy. It just becomes a habit. I would just rest my hands there to feel kicks and movement and then it just became a habit all the time wether I was feeling for kicks or not. And sometimes I was trying to help hold my belly up 😂😂😂 gets heavy  lmao

My mom said it was almost like an instinct to touch it when she was pregnant. And when you think about it, there's something new on your body you probably are going to want to touch it more because it wasn't there before
