Blanket in crib?

When do they start sleeping in a crib and when is a full on blanket)quilt (weather permitting) safe?

Answer

No blankets (or pillows/anything else in the crib) until they are 1 and it needs to be thin. My daughter is almost 2 and I still don't use a thick blanket.

My girlfriend in NY has a 3 year old and only uses a thin blanket.

It'll be what you are comfortable with after the age of 1. I personally don't think they need a thick blanket as toddlers still have a hard time regulating their temperatures.

I don't use a blanket with my kids until they're out of the crib and in a twin bed, so around 2.5. We use sleepsacks because it is so much safer and way easier because they can't kick their covers off. We use fleece sleepsacks in the winter and thin cotton ones in the summer.

I work and child care and the state says it's safe at 12 months because they r usually standing rolling and they can move it easily but I only use thin small blankets even then just to be safe
