Induction stories?

Due 10/10: being induced Friday night. So nervous. I've heard nothing but bad things about being induced. I am 1cm dilated as of today, 50% effaced & stationed -2. I wasn't induced first pregnancy & had a great delivery/birth experience. Baby is also measuring at 8lbs1oz & I am a pretty small mama. So excited to meet our prince yet so nervous. Thanks for sharing any & all stories. 💙

Have you tried using other methods to help things along like red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil and using a birthing ball?

Ive been induced with my first and it looks like I might be induced this sunday with my third. Second came two days passed his due date. My stats are the same as yours pretty much. Ive tried rasberry tea leaf, spicy food, lots of sex, reflexology and walking. Nothing has worked for me. 
My first induction was just so long. They have to dilate you enough until you are a 4 then they give you pitocin to give you hard contractions. Im just gonna be honest and tell you my past experience isnt ideal. It is more painful than a regular non induced birth. I was in the hospital being induced for 23 hours before I pushed him out. Ive cried a few times sad about being induced again. I just wish she would want out already. Just know that everything will be worth it in the end and your baby being in your arms will make any amount of time in pain worth it.

At 8pm I got an oral cervix softener and at midnight we started the pitocin. By 7am I was still only a loose 1cm, at 1:30pm I'd finally hit 3cm. When my Dr came to check me at 4, I'd made no progress and he asked me what I wanted to do. He warned I'd probably be in labor another day and at that point I had my epiphany. I am selfish, I hadn't even thought of my poor baby that I was supposed to be protecting. I was on the monitors the entire 22 hours and there were no signs of distress, but I knew if I continued something bad would happen to my perfect baby boy or I'd end with a C-Section.... I chose to end the induction process (after 16 hours of pitocin-induced labor with zero pain meds) and go home. I can't stop crying, I feel so guilty and so mortified. It was so wrong to force something that I knew eventually would happen on its own and I don't know that I can ever forgive myself even though my baby boy is healthy and cozy inside my tummy.... just my two cents of what I experienced.

I've been induced twice.   The first time,  I was over a week overdue.   I was given the medicine to soften my cervix and then put on pitocin when I got to the hospital the next day.   Labor wasn't progressing so they finally broke my water.   Finally it got started.  I ended up pushing for over an hour,  and my epidural had worn off so it was torture.  All in all,  it took over 30 hours.  My son only ended up weighing a little over 7 lbs at 10 days late so I really feel like my due date was wrong.

The second time went much smoother.   I was four days overdue when I was induced.   I was already having contractions when I got to the hospital to be put on pitocin.  My water broke on it's own in the middle of a strong contraction.   My epidural worked beautifully and I felt nothing and was having a great time just laughing and joking.   I was actually concerned the baby was going to slip right out before the doctor got there.   And he ended up over 9 1/2 lbs.

I'm hoping I can finally go naturally this time.   I'm 38 wks with no signs of anything though,  so I don't really think I will.

My entire pregnancy (and really honestly even before) I've dreamt of a natural labor and birth. I made it clear from the beginning and took on a lot of judgement and questioning from others but stood firm in what I wanted. My husband didn't understand at first why I would put myself thru that amount of pain when I had other options but he supported me and eventually understood more. For months I prepared myself, watched 'Business of Being Born', read Ina May's books and watched her TED talks, I talked to other moms who went all natural, asked you all numerous questions and followed your beautiful births. I researched relentlessly and picked hospitals and doctors that I knew in my heart would fully support my decisions as a new mom and who wanted nothing but the best for her little man cub and his arrival into this world, I even had the perfect birth plan put together. And then I hit 36 weeks. I became miserable and impatient, I tried every natural induction method at home I could think of and nothing worked even though my body has shown signs of preparing for WEEKS. My back and my hips weren't just uncomfortable, but caused me severe pain to the point of tears multiple times a day as well as throughout the night (I've been averaging 3 hours a night for weeks). Monday I had a Dr. Appt at 39+4, I was 1cm dilated as I had been since 34 weeks and 70% effaced (had bloody show all Saturday). My Dr has been all for my natural birth and when I asked for an induction, he really questioned if it's what I wanted and warned me it was very possible and even likely that I'd labor up to two days. Did I listen? No. I wanted instant gratification, I told myself I could be induced and still go unmedicated, I thought my baby and my body were ready, so my Dr agreed to let me try. I headed into L&D at 6pm Monday night. *continued in comments*
