should I take a pregnancy test?

So I haven't been that good at taking my birth control, I've been taking it on time some days and maybe a hour late on other days, I haven't had my period yet and I should have gotten it about a week ago 
Could it be the birth control causing me to miss my period or should I take a pregnancy test? My boyfriend pulls out everytime. 
It's kinda like I'm having a period without the blood, I'm moody, tired and hungry like I normally but no blood, I had a bit of spotting a few days ago.

When in doubt take a pregnancy test. That's the only reason for being late that can be tested, everything else is guess work

My doc told me that it doesn't really matter what time you take your pill at as long as it's consistent in the evening/morning/afternoon or whatever you choose. I take my pill before bed and sometimes it's at 9pm, other times it's midnight. I haven't had any problems. An hour late shouldn't change anything. 
You could take a pregnancy test just to ease your mind.
