After getting cervix checked??

The doctor checked my cervix today, she told me I would have spotting. (I am) but is it normal to have intense period like cramps? From my belly to my back?

I did. Having my membranes stripped didn't put me in to labor either time. It gave me spotting and pretty bad cramps, but it stopped. The first time it was done I had cramping and spotting until the next day.

Did she strip you membranes or just check? That's what it was like when when mine were swept. And then the next day my water broke.
