How did u survive unmededicated birth?

Hi ladies, I am planning to have an unmedicated birth at a hospital. First-time Mommy here with no idea what labor pains are going to be like. For all of you who have had natural unmedicated births, what were your secrets! What techniques helped you the most? Did you have a doula? Did you take any specific classes before to learn coping skills? Tell me everything!

I've do ne it three times...I read a ton of books Bradley method, ina may lots of stories of birth experiences...my husband was very supportive and I honestly don't think you could do it if your husband wasn't...we used massage alot but just staying home as long as possible...getting in the tub, birth ball...I walked a ton till I was 9/10cm last two times...it's very intense and it's a mind set there's not much to take the pain away it's just accepting it that will get u through

Definitely read up and get informed.  Knowing what is happening and what to expect helps push away fear💛. For a first time mom I would recommend a doula for sure. I wanted an unmedicated birth with my first but was not prepared for the severe none stop pain, vomiting and unbelievable exhaustion I went through and gave in with the epidural last minute. With my second I almost gave in but I decided to be stubborn! I had my mom encouraging me and that helped a lot! I have heard a lot of women say that they though they would die...and honestly that is the exact feeling I would use to describe the experience, specially during transition and then pushing...I basically had to decide to push through "death"...and I didn't die lol (to my surprise lol) and neither do most women :). Doula, hyponobabies and Bradley method classes can be beneficial (home study works too instead of taking a live class), birth affirmations, birth ball, water labor (shower/tub). Good Webster certified chiropractic care prenatally is important to have an aligned pelvis to make delivery quicker and easier!

I have had three natural VBAC births in the hospital and used birth affirmations, water labor, my birth ball, different positions for labor (not laboring on your back), massage, chiropractic, and essential oils. I also had a midwife and didn't have cervical checks. Intermittent fetal monitoring, moving around in between monitoring. Avoid induction (without medical necessity), so say you're 40+5 and baby looks good, you're healthy, and the placenta is healthy--stay pregnant until baby is ready.

A friend recently asked me if I have a birth plan. I responded drugs just drugs that's my only plan. 
To be honest though I am terrified of a needle going into my spine but I think once I'm there I'm not gonna care so much!

I've had 3 natural births. The first one I really used a focal point in the room to focus on during the contractions. I also learned as much as I could about what was going to happen to my body to prepare myself. I don't feel like my birth classes really prepared me, but that's just me. I also prefer to stay home as long as I can, just not too long. With my last I think I was like 7 cm when I got to the hospital. It's a little annoying when they're trying to ask you a million questions during intense contractions, but I prefer less time in the hospital. Also, standing, swaying, using a birthing ball, being in the bath are all good things to keep things moving. Even during the really difficult times I knew I could do it and I knew I just had to hang on until the baby was born. I do absolutely love that after we snuggle and have our skin to skin time I can get up and take a shower and get comfortable instead of being stuck in a bed.
