gerber rice cereal?

When did everyone give rice cereal to their newborns? Also how many tbsp's of rice cereal would I put in 6 oz of formula? Thanks.

My son who is now 10 was eating rice cereal in his bottles at one month bc he had gerd and couldn't keep anything down. He had no issues then or now. My daughter turned 1mth today and has been drinking feeding fine but for the last 2-3 days she has been on the breast for 30min off for 30min. I can't take it anymore so tomorrow I will be buying rice cereal and putting 1tbsp in a 4oz bottle. The dr actually advised me to do this with my son but at this point I'm not asking the Dr anything, I'm at my wits end and out of options. She can't continue to starve which is what I feel she's doing.

A little over a month. He did just fine. Still is fine. I take the scoop from formula and put about 3 1/2 scoops in his milk.

Please don't do this. Newborns stomachs are not mature enough for any type of solid food. Including rice cereal.

If you're going"by the book" Babies are only supposed to eat/drink breast milk or formula for the first 6 months. Only then should you add solids or rice cereal etc I've heard maybe 5 months but never a newborn or 1 month old...

I agree with mommas saying "no" to cereal in the bottle! 😬 Don't do it it's not good for their tummies and can actually cause tummy issues later on with sensitivity issues. Babies can't have anything other than milk/formula until they are at least 5 months.. even wait until 4 if you can but always check with your dr first!

You can skip rice cereal and give them real food like veggies after 6 months and you're not supposed to put it in a bottle unless the dr says there's a medical reason to. Please speak with your baby's pediatrician.
