Soooo I just finished giving my BF a handjob and when he was coming he started saying "stay away from the tip!!" 
No guy, let alone him, has ever said that. Have I been doing something wrong my whole life? Why would I need to stay away from the tip?

It's super sensitive for most guys when they come. I think it's a little numbing and ruins it for them when you do that while they're coming. I asked my bf and that's what he said. If I'm swallowing I just let him come down my throat or in my mouth and just let it come out on its own for a few seconds so I don't have to lick on the tip to get the rest of it.
