For me and my family, we've never gotten flu shots before and haven't had the flu. My boyfriend had never had the flu either, but whenever he got the flu shot for the first time, he got it. Curious as to what everyone else's experience is.

I never got the flu shot until one year I got really really sick and almost had to go to the hospital. I lost a ton of weight and was sick for three weeks. I was really dehydrated, it was absolutely terrifying.

Ever since, I have gotten the flu shot and I haven't caught the flu.

There are multiple strains of Type A and Type B that go around. The flu shot only covers some of them.

I got the flu shot in Oct last year. Jan of this year I caught H1N2, which wasn't covered by the shot.

I used to never get the shot, then I got H1N1 in 09 and was almost hospitalized. After that I have always gotten my shot, other then the little fact I don't get it, I can't go to work.

The flu vaccine is not a live vaccine .. it is phsyically impossible that the shot gave you the flu .. yes it can make.you not feel well .. but it also takes a week or so to take effect .. in that time you can still contract the flu .. and the shot.doesnt protect against all strains of flu only so many so still possible to get it even recieving the vaccine

I've never had the flu shot and I've had the flu multiple times. Same with my dad and sister. My husband has to get the flu shot every year because of his job and he's never had the flu. Lucky bastard.
