what makes one a "ho"/whore/slut

If sleeping with several men doesn't make you a slut/whore, what does? Personally, I think you're a whore if you sleep with several people who may be in relationships with other women and not really care that they are, or knowingly let a man use you for sex. I've seen lots of "slut shaming" comments and I'm just wondering. I think it's okay to explore your sexuality. But if you're knowingly sleeping with taken men, or sleeping with different men while in a relationship/marriage, that makes you a whore.
