beer boobs, anyone?

Mon to fri I ebf and pump twice in the evening at work every 3 or 4 hrs and if I skip a session my boobs handle it well. My SO and I have date night on Saturday and we usually get a couple beers and I skip a nursing session when I get home until my milk is clean. Every single time I do that my boobs leak and swell like crazy!! Anyone else?

You'd be better off pumping and dumping, it's better for your supply and if you wait to long you'll make yourself sick. I started pumping less at work and got a clog that turned into 102 fever and mastitis ( this is like going 6-8 hours instead of 4-5). Also depending on what beer your drinking you might be signaling an increase, dark beers increase milk production which will increase your change of infection if your not emptying.

As long as you're not feeling the effects of the beer or any alcohol when you pump, there is no need to dump. I had 2 beers last Friday night, pumped about 3 hours after drinking the last one, was feeling nothing, stored it in the fridge and he had it the next day.
