cervical checks??

I see many people post things like dialated 3 cm 50% effaced. I'm 37 weeks and my doc doesn't check for it? Is it because I have no labor signs?

It's really not a good indicator of anything. My Dr was so excited I was 1 cm at 36 weeks and 2 at 37 weeks. Guess what, over 40 weeks now and still no baby.

Some doctors don't check because it's not really necessary! My doctors don't usually check at all but they offered to check when I hit 41 weeks

Here in the Netherlands they don't check you at all. Only if there is a medical issue but otherwise it doesn't tell you much so no checking is done. 38 weeks here with no idea and no false hopes.

My doc started checking me at 36 weeks coz I ended up twice in l&d for preterm contractions. I'm fully effaced and 3cm since 36 weeks...no sign of baby tho. 37 weeks now.

I think some doctors just don't because it doesn't actually indicate that you're going to go into labor early.
Mine asked me every time if I wanted him too and I'm anxious like that so I said yes lol.

My doctor has not checked and won't until my 40 week appointment. It's frustrating, but I think I'm glad I don't know so I'm not disappointed.

Depends when they each want to start checking. I personally have declined any until past my due date. Dilation doesnt mean anything and they can introduce bacteria every time they are checking

Around my 35 week appt my doctor asked if I was having any contractions which I was so she checked me

I didn't start getting checked until week 38 she asked me if I wanted it done. At week 39 she asked me if I wanted my membranes stripped too.

My Dr said if I haven't had any real labor signs then there is no point but she going to do it for me at my next visit. I'll be 38 weeks by then
