Mirena IUD

Hey guys.

I'm going into my gynocologist tommorrow to get off the pill and look into getting the mirena IUD inserted. Anyone who has personally had one, can you tell me the pros/cons of the device? I want a method that will hopefully help my extremely painful cramps and that will maybe just maybe..stop my period. Also one that is super effective in preventing pregnancy. My only issue is spotting. I do not want spotting!
