When Will Cycle Return to Normal?
I found out I was having a miscarriage on August 9. Heavy bleeding and passed tissue for a day and a half, then period-like bleeding for the remainder of the week. I would then go a few days with nothing, spot a little, then go back to nothing, and then spot some more. This was over the course of several weeks. I had my hcg levels checked weekly and it was taking a while for my levels to drop. I started bleeding again on September 10 after sex and thought it may be my period returning, but my HCG levels were still at 27 on the 9th. I found out my HCG level after I started bleeding and the the midwife did say that it could still possibly be my period even with my HCG being what it was. Although from everything I've read online, it seems that there needs to be several weeks of no bleeding beforehand for it to be a true period. I did bleed the length of my typical period and then it stopped.
I had to go for 2 more weeks for bloodwork and she finally released me on September 26. My hcg was still at 6 but she said she thought I was okay since it had been gradually dropping.
If the bleeding on the 10th was my period, I should have started on October 8. I did begin spotting that day. And I spotted a little bit each day since then. It started out as pink the first day and has been dark brown since. I usually spot for one day only and then wake up to AF, but no red flow yet. It's light enough that I haven't even had the need for tampons or pads, just pantyliners.
Was your period normal after your miscarriage? Did you just spot or was it normal or heavier than usual? Could it just be something else and I'll get my period in a week or so?
This has just been such an emotionally draining process. We were told to wait one cycle before trying again and it's already been 2 months and I'm still not sure if I've had my period or not. :/
