Female or Make gynecologist?!

Question

Just had to switch my doctor out today from female to male.. I'm not liking this choice but it's the only choice I had right now for a local office. It sucks! So I wanna know what you all think. I personally felt more comfortable with the female Gyno I had she was awesome! I don't know how this male one is... 🙁😕

I agree, I'd be more comfortable with a female looking at my hooha as opposed to a male. It's just more comforting in a way I guess.

I always thought I would be uncomfortable having a male ob, but I actually love it. He's very understanding and more gentle than the female I had previously. In the end, they're just doctors doing their job. Don't feel uncomfortable because of their gender. Just find a doctor you love, gender doesn't matter.

I prefer my female OB. The office I go to only has 2 actual male doctors and one FNP, I said I'd only feel okay seeing a female. I've been raped. So it only helps if the woman actually knows what it feels like. (If they've been through it.) men can only tell from a book, and it's really hard to see if they understand your needs. Some of my friends have male OB's with no issues. But everybody has their personal opinions. (:

I've only had women. A man can only tell you what he's read in a book, where a woman knows what everything feels like. I've had no issues with any of them during exams (The only woman I ever had an issue with was one who kept trying to push Mirena on me even though my records blatantly say "THIS PATIENT CANNOT HAVE HORMONE THEREPY OR BIRTH CONTROL." I finally asked her how much commission she gets for every one prescribed and she stormed out of the room).

Well all the female gynecologists I've seen have been really snotty and mean. really sad that a woman would put down other women especially knowing what being a women is/feels like...Its not super comfortable going to a male, but in my opinion they are more professional, nice and polite than women and respectful as well

In the beginning of my pregnancy up to 23weeks I was being seen by a female doctor n my current male ob is the only one that can see me in my area. I feel like the male OB has way better bedside manners, is more gentle, tries to understand my concerns better than any obgyn has. Wen I first started seeing him I was nervous bout Pap smears and to be checked for dilation but his nurses would be in the room each time so I feel more at ease bout that part

My IVF Doctors and techs were ALL male, though the ultrasound techs were female as we're all the nurses.

The doctors doing special testing were all male too.

I still prefer my female OB personally.  Not comfortable with another man touching me...   Even my family doctor is female.

My was male and I have to tell you he even delivered my baby.Very gentle and caring and tru all my pregnancy I could tect or call him if I had any question or worries.They are just a doctor's doing their job the best they can.But you know how u feel the most comfortable.
