Boy advice please!

I like this guy a lot that works at a store about half an hour away from me. He was determined for him and I to have a conversation which we did. He was an open book, very sweet, and a babe as fuck. He's basically everything I like in a guy surprisingly. One problem, I don't know exactly how to approach him and continue getting to know him? Do I blantantly ask him for his number or do I just keep talking to him when I see him every now and then? I don't want to risk wasting a chance with someone that I could've potentionally been with. I'm a risk taker, sometimes lmao, but advice is very much needed. Quite lost!
