maternity shoot worth it?

I'm really torn on whether or not to have a maternity photoshoot. I'm a first time mom and it sounds really exciting but the expense is making me question it, min I've found is £150. I'm wondering if I just leave it and then have new born pictures instead professionally done coz I figured once the baby comes im going to replace all the bump pics with the baby pics.

I've also got a groupon route option but you only get 1 pic. How do you pic one picture from a 1-2 hour photoshoot. I suspect I might end up buying extra 3-4 which will come up to circa £75 in which case I may as well pay £150 and get over 50 pictures.

What do you guys think?

We've been married for almost 3 years, this is our first baby and we are beyond excited. I'm 29 and have always worked hard for everything i have. My pregnancy has been such a  fantastic experience. Neither my mom nor my MIL have pictures of themselves pregnant with us. I truly cherish my photos, i feel like the whole world takes them for grated now with social media these days. I'm social media FREE, no fb, twitter, instagram, nothing!! So I've been saving since the day i found out i was pregnant for my maternity photos, it was only then when we decided on the package for newborn photos too. I'm so excited for my shoot it's Oct 22, and I'll be 34wks. For me it's totally worth it, they are gonna do my hair, makeup and providing outfits too, it's pricy of course I had to convince my husband lol but so excited to save and treasure those memories for life!

I find the maternity shoot very strange, so staged. I don't wanna take a staged photo and  definitely won't pay for such a thing

I'm not doing one either. I'd rather spend the money on getting great newborn pics and family pics once my little guy arrives. It's so expensive and I don't think there's a moment I wish I saw my mom's maternity pics but would have been sad without my baby pics and family pics.

Must have something to do with the age/stage you are in life. I'm 36 yrs old and this is our first and probably only child. I just decided, with my husband backing me up, to schedule a photo shoot with my belly bump and my husband and our dog. I want to capture this moment in time...Before the world as we know it changes FOREVER! ❤ I did however decide to just pay for the shoot and not the whole giant expensive photo package. I can order a few of my favorite shots and this will help keep the cost within reason.

I'm not. I already have so many pictures of myself pregnant because my husband keeps on taking them 😂 And I know next week when I leave to visit family there are going to be even more pictures taken! But if you really want to have one go for it!

It's not worth it to me. I'll have plenty of regular pics with my belly in it and I don't really like to put up pictures of myself anyway. Plus I think my mom and MIL would more likely appreciate a photo of me with the baby when she's here!
