Car seat question?

Question

Have any of you stopped using the carrier and base and went to a regular car seat. My boy will be 5 months tomorrow and he's huge 18+ lbs and 27+ in. He's already getting too big for his carrier.

Also Is it safe to put him next to a window? I have a older stepson in a booster and it's a pain in the ass to have them next to each other cause I can't buckle the seatbelt with the booster well when the carrier is clicked in.

We're switching as soon as LO can sit up well enough to ride in shopping carts. I'm tired of trying to Jenga my groceries around her car seat. Plus, car seat with little chubbo in it is getting really difficult for Mama to heave in and out of the car.

I've been trying to wear her in the Ergo at places that don't have shopping carts, but she doesn't love it. Hopefully she'll get more used to it, because that's a pretty handy alternative.

It is actually recommended that babies sit rear-facing until the age of 2 now.  Even if their legs are bent they are still safer that way.

They have car seats that's are adjustable for every stage including infant. It just make sure you lo is still rear facing. It's so much safer! (If you didn't already know that) 🙂

We are switching!!! We got the britax be safe elite 35 model and it's just wayyy to heavy. He's about 16 pounds and 27 + inches long and he hates his car seat now. Just getting a new stroller and car seat altogether.

Yep we're switching to the convertible seat now because I babywear and taking her seat in and out has become a pain unless her dad is with me. She'll still be rear facing. And yes even tho the middle is recommended of course there are times when it's not possible for example your case with another child or maybe people that have twins and a toddler one baby would have to go near the window.

My daughter was in a convertible car seat from birth it's safe and sounds like time to switch and yes it's safe to put baby by the window.
