Pregnant again??

How likely is it to get pregnant when you are 3 months postpartum? I have a 3 month old almost 4 months. I EBF. I was told for the first 3 months or so breastfeeding is birth control... but i just feel off like i did this time last year.. I havent started my period yet.  So i have no idea if i have ovulated as i havent been looking for symptoms.

Breastfeeding is not birth control - it helps to suppress ovulation if you're feeding every 2-3 hours around the clock, but it's not 100% guaranteed. My doctor told me that because my baby has a long stretch of sleep at night then it wouldn't be effective for me at all. She also said women are quite fertile right after giving birth.

It's possible you could be pregnant, but there's really no way to know without taking a test, because your period might not come back for months if you're EBF.

I got pregnant 2 weeks after pp .. it's possible because your more fertile after having a baby .. I would just test ..

Its very likely to get pregnant, I was worned by midwife to not consider breastfeeding as birth control, I was also worned that after giving birth women are most fertile no matter if they get their period back or not.

It's totally possible to get pregnant while EBF. It is not a reliable birth control method.

Hi ladies, just wondering did you take a pregnancy test? How many weeks? And did it show positive straight away if you were still breastfeeding.

I have EBF all of my kids. With all three I got my cycles back before returning to work. My first I had my period at 8week, my second at 12 weeks, my third at 4.5 months or so. That means I ovulated 2 weeks prior to each period. If you haven't been using birth control, it's def possible you could be pregnant. If your cycles have return, then super likely. Take a test

I got pregnant when my baby was 3 months, also breastfeeding. But I had my period so i'm not sure. Take a test!
