I had a D&C on September 30th (12 days ago). I didn't have any pain or much bleeding afterward, just a little spotting. At 4 days post op, I went to the ER because I had sharp stabbing pains, started gushing clots, and then passed the placenta (which they obviously missed). I spotted and bled off and on for a few more days, and then mostly stopped for a couple. This evening, however, I am experiencing a lot of cramping again and am passing decent sized clots again. I'm just not sure what to do or expect now. I have been bleeding for three weeks from the time we found out baby had passed until now. I chose a D&C because I was told I would only spot for a couple days and it would all be over. I am just ready for some closure.
