should I make a move

I work as a hostess at a restaurant. I really do like my job and the people I work with, especially one of the cooks in the back. He's much older than I am though (I'm 21 and he's probably 40 🙈). He's super sweet  to me and he's actually a little flirty with me. I've always thought of making a move because I always believe if you like someone just go for it. The age doesn't bother me it's just I know trying to start something with people from work could be a red flag. Things start going around and when other people know it can sometimes get out of hand (I've heard stories from past employees who've hooked up with people from work). I really do like him I think he might feel something too. Should I make a move?
