Should I go to the hospital or should I wait?? I'm 40 weeks today and I've been having contractions since last night they haven't been this close until now though. Should I go in?? Or should I wait??

Trust me it's better to be home as long as possible. I was until 8 cm with my first and 9 with my second. Lol

You're getting there but not yet. Unless your water breaks or they start getting closer together, it's better to try and wait and rest at home.

My birth instructor told me "5-1-1". 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for a full hour. Then it's time.

Usually it's the 5-1-1 rule (5 mins apart, lasting 1 min, for at least an hour) HOWEVER, these needs to be can't talk, can't walk contractions. Take it from someone who's had a false alarm at 5-1-1, they just weren't intense enough and I've been having them now since last Wednesday. Wait until you can not bear the pain any longer to go in or they'll send you home.

I went in when mine were about 2 min apart and frequent. I was a 4 by the time I was admitted. I progressed very quickly tho. Every one is different. You could wait until they are 2-3 min and go in or go in now and be safe. Just be prepared either way
