Foley Catheter Induction?

Question

Has anyone experienced a Foley Catheter Induction? What was it like? How long was the process? That may be what I will be getting and I just want to know the process, pain, just your overall experience. Anything helps!

I went my whole labor process without pain meds! I was 17 and it was my first. I had the bulb in for 9 hours and then it fell out. An hour later they broke my water at 3-4 cm. An hour and 22 minutes later I was fully dilated. Take it from someone with a really low pain tolerance.... it really was not bad at all. I laughed and talked the whole way through my labor until they broke my water.

Everyone gets a catheter that gets the epidural. I got my epidural first before they inserted the catheter, so I couldn't tell you what it feels like.

I had 2 rounds of cervadil (12 hours each) and 12 hours of pitocin before they tried the foley ball. It was uncomfortable, but not too bad. It only helps you dilate to 3-4 cm though. Some docs say to use the foley ball with pitocin, but my doc said recent studies show that pitocin plus foley ball isn't any better than the foley ball by itself. After 9 hours, foley ball came out and they let me take a break before starting me on pitocin again until I was in active labor and my water broke.

Mine hurt so bad! Doctor had to try to insert it a few times because my cervix leaned towards one side. 😳😩 it was awful. Then I got a c section anyway! I never dilated past the 3cm of the balloon

It hurts like a mother f'er! Get some pain meds or epidural first! Seriously this was worse than all thr contractions
