do tampons leak??

Hey, sorry if my question is a bit stupid but tampons are not so common in my country and it's my first time using one and I'm afraid it might leak... is that possible??

I always wear a pad with the tampon because sometimes ,even when I just put the tampon in, some blood flows out onto the underwear. It's good for back up too, because if you don't catch when your tampon is full it will be good to have it.

Before I got a menstrual cup, I had to wear a tampon and a pad. Leaks were common for me.

I have a very heavy flow so when I wear tampons I either have to change them frequently or if I know I won't be able to do that I have to wear a tampon and a liner or pad with it

It is but only if it gets full. Like if you put in a regular one but your flow is heavy it'll "fill up' quicker and leak. But it's not very common since you can tell how heavy or light you are and usually you catch it before it does when you go to the bathroom.

Yes they can if they aren't changed regularly or you insert it wrong.

If your flow is heavy or have blood clots like I do they can, especially the clots! I recommend at least a panty liner just incase!
