Relationship HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I'm 13 (almost 14). I really like this boy in high school (he's in 9th grade, I'm in 8th) and I don't know what to do. We are like best friends and I feel like we have a connection and maybe he likes me but I don't know. People are like, just ask him, and I'm like its harder than you think so please, maybe some advice on how to handle the situation please??  So PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thanks!😀
