Why are modern working women so against cooking homemade?

It seems like most people are proud to boast about not being able to cook.  Cooking is a basic life skill.  Everybody should be able to cook a good meal.  Plus it's fun!  I love cooking, especially from scratch but I also have a great career.  Why can't most people cook in my generation? (millennials) Is it just mostly the younger crowd?

I've never heard any working woman say that.... I work and have a very high powered job as does my hubby and we both love to cook.

That's a pretty sweeping generalization. I'm 28 and I adore cooking. I prefer to make everything from scratch. Sauces, marinades, even my own stock, all from scratch. I love making food for people and seeing the satisfaction on their faces when they eat it. It's the closest thing I have to a hobby. Love it.

Maybe they weren't taught or when the women and men of their family tried they were uninterested and now lack that skill.

My grandmother and mother were very big on teaching me how to cook and bake and I love doing it. My husbands especially thankful 😘

I'm 25 Love to cook. I do have s few friends who refuse too or don't know how. It baffles me as well.

I wouldn't say is necessary the you ger crowd. I know people in their 40s 50s who don't enjoy cooking.
I grew up seeing my mom cooking every day so is normal for me ( might be every other day) but there is always cooked food on our table! 
I think is just what you grow up with...
Yes- life is busy- yes is hard to find time and energy for cooking- but is easy to get lazy and not cook!
Especially when you have children- I'd say cooked food is the best

I noticed that too. I am 25 with a great career and also can cook from scratch without having to stare at directions every time, so can my husband. I just couldn't imagine my kids growing up without food homemade with love from my husband and I.

I like cooking! But I hate recipes because I pretty much follow them all day at work as a chemist. So I end up making a lot of soups and hardly ever bake because that reminds me of work.

My son is 15 and he can cook great but my daughter is 18 and she will not cook she has him cook for her!!!!

I love cooking! I wish I had more time to do it and make more elaborate meals but it's hard with work, a one year old and 7 months pregnant

I love to cook! It can be hard after a busy day but I do it as often as I can. On cold winter Sundays I have been known to spend the day cooking for the whole week - one meal slow-cooking in the crock pot, another baking in the oven, and another still simmering on the stove!
