flu and tdap vaccines while pregnant??

My doctor recommends I get both of them here pretty soon I told her I was gonna think about it. I'm 31 weeks and I'm just scared getting any vaccine in general while pregnant? Thoughts and experiences?

I received both vacccines because my son will be born in 2 weeks when the flu season starts to peak. The vaccines aren't so much for you as they are for the baby. They are to protect the baby from getting sick after birth until they are old enough to receive their own vaccines. Babies do not have immune systems at first so any kind of illness can really cause them damage such as hospitalization or worse. It's your personal opinion of whether you choose to get them or not but it honestly is just to ensure baby is protected until they're 2 months old when their bodies can handle getting the vaccine themselves.

You are more likely to get flu while pregnant, which can harm baby....

Whooping cough can also kill a baby once born....the vaccine helps protect baby until they are old enough to receive.

I  had both and didn't have any negative reactions. I got both since I'm having a winter baby. I've seen the videos of whooping cough. If I can pass anything along to my little one to help him then I'll deal with the achy body symptoms etc.

Get them
 Go on youtube and look up videos of infants with whooping cough and then tell me you are still on the fence. I can Garuntee you'll go running for that shot.

Ive had both. TDAP at 28 weeks and flu last week. Besides my arm hurting for a few days I had no symptoms. Flu shot isn't a live vaccine so it can not give you the flu.

Plus your immune system is compromised during pregnancy so if you get the flu you can end up in the ER and it can even be deadly. Just get them. Your doctor knows what she's talking about

I got mine. My doctor said pregnant women who get the flu can't get verrrrry sick and your baby can't get those shots until they are 6 months and your baby will get the anti bodies you make. I got mine and I'm fine. (:

The Whooping Cough one I am still thinking about. The only thing making me want to get it, is the fact that I am having a Winter Baby which means running noses, coughs, etc ... & having people visit ... Ugh I wish I could say no visitors till spring 😂😂

I never get the flu shot and thankfully have never gotten the flu and my doctor was fine with it. But you bet your bottom dollar I got the TDAP; whooping cough is no laughing matter and it's especially horrifying thinking about a baby getting it because theyre not old enough to get the vaccine themselves. It's easily transferable, as in someone who has it or has come into contact with it, could walk past and potentially infect your child.
I always suggest doing your own research from credible and scientific sources regarding vaccines or anything really. Good luck.

Im personally choosing not to get the flu vaccine because of past experience with it and not having had it for the last 12 years and having been fine. I haven't looked into the tdap (im only 16w4d and due end of march)
