sleeping through the night? not here.

My EBF 6 month old still wakes up three times to nurse. Anyone else have this issue?? We've started him on solids but it hasn't helped.

I have a formula fed baby around the same age and he wakes 1-2 times for feeding and he is on solids also.

It's still normal at that age, however frustrating it is!

Completely normal and healthy for a baby that age to wake up threw the night regardless of how they are fed. It really just depends on the baby my daughter is 5 months old, breastfed and has slept threw the night since 2 weeks old. She wakes up once some nights but usually sleeps threw. I know lots of formula fed baby's that still wake up multiple times. 😊

He might be doing it out of habit. Likes he's not actually hungry but he knows if he wakes up you'll feed and comfort him. My husband and I are sleep training our 2 month old (or starting to routine wise) and we read somewhere that after they reach 12 lbs, they technically don't need any nighttime feeding because they can stay full through the night. Our LO has two night feedings at 1130 and 330 instead of the 4 he use to have  at 1030,130,430,630, and he use to wake up every time at those times until we managed to space the feedings out to 1130 and 330 so we all could get some sleep. Now, instead of the 2oz he got before because he'd fall asleep, he gets 4/5 oz and drinks it all and then sleep longer

Maybe give him a pacifer when he wakes up instead of feeding him. He might just want the comfort of sucking and isnt actually hungry.
