Is this car seat okay for a newborn? I know the weight is fine is just how do I leave with the baby? I know most hospitals wants to inspect the car seat and make sure the baby is buckle in correctly do I just tell them the car seat is in the car or what?

Just check with your hospital. The one my friend delivered at required an infant car seat only. 
Luckily my hospital doesn't care as long as baby fits in it. 
That and my husband is a cop so I'd really like to see them try and tell us we can't leave with our child

Yes, you just let 'em know it's in the car. A nurse or someone will follow you out and check everything.

Yup. I have a similar one (graco my ride 65) and we brought home our 6lb 15oz baby girl in it. This is her around 3 weeks old in it (no negative comments please)

Just an FYI, a hospital cannot prevent you from leaving with your child... they're not legal gaurdians. They can threaten to call authorities, but you can always leave, even against medical advice. 
And some parents don't drive their newborns home, some walk, some take public transportation.

That depends in the hospital. Mine requires you to bring the seat in and for the baby to leave in it.

I have one that is an all in one I will never need to get him another car seat again. It goes from newborn all the way to a booster seat. I told the hospital that and they just make you ride in the wheelchair to the car.

Because my baby was a preemie she had to pass a car seat test. She had to sit in it for 90 minutes and make sure she was still breathing properly and all that good stuff.

I would call your hospital and ask their policies. It would suck to not be able to bring your baby home just because of something like a car seat.
