what does percentile mean?

I'm from the UK and I've never heard of percentile? If someone could explain this to me that would be great I feel like I'm missing something out with my baby lol x

So if your baby's weight is in the 75th percentile, like mine 😁, it means that he is bigger than 75 % of babies his age and smaller than 25%. Make sense?
