I need to start adding formula to the breast milk bottles that I'm sending to school with my daughter. What are the rules about this? Do they need to be mixed at a certain temperature? How long will they last once they're mixed together? Things like that…

My pediatrician told me to never mix formula with breast milk. I would probably give him some breast milk and once he is done prepare the bottle with formula.

Talk to your doctor first! We were given a specific ratio of formula to milk. Too much formula can mess with them.

I was fortifying for my low birth weight/hypoglycemic baby and was adding 1 tsp per ounce. Keep refrigerated and use within 24 hours.
