Juneau or just June?

Question

We'll call her June either way, but just playing with the idea that it could be short for Juneau (pronounced Juno) or should I just keep it as June...
Thoughts?

I am a pretty firm believer in naming your kid what you are going to call her. If you are going to call her June just name her that.

I prefer Juno instead of Juneau. I'm from Alaska and I'm also not a fan of city names as names. But that's just my personal opinion.

Juneau will always be pro lived like chateau. If you want her to he called Juno, why why not just use the correct spelling?

Forget about what people think about naming  your kid one thing and calling it another. I was once against it but it will give your kid more.options later in life as they develop into their own personality. I'm naming my dd Juniper. She can go by that or June, JuJu, or Juni. Or Juniper.

I live in Juneau, so it's hard for me to imagine it as someone's name haha but I guess it could be the next Madison, Austin, London, Boston, etc!
