Environment for Children?

Question

Would you ever let your children be around family or friends who have been in prison or how about someone who literally almost killed their own blood?
 
Long story short my husband sibilings stab one their very own brother in the neck almost killing him. Also he has a cousin who just got realease from prison and my husband  was very quickly to say let's go visit him... 😳🙄

I'm I wrong for not wanted my child anywhere near this sort of environment even though they are family?

It depends on the person and whether or not you believe that they are dangerous. My fiancé was in prison for 18 months for assault with a deadly weapon when he was only 18 years old. That was almost 20 years ago and he would never ever do that again. If you know this person and they are dangerous, there's no way in hell I would let my kid around them, but not all people who have been in prison are bad people, so just keep that in mind. If you don't think they would harm anybody, that's really what matters.

How do you know if hes not trying to better himself? Just because he was in prision doesnt make him a bad person. Why dont you and your husband go to see him first then decide if you want to bring the children.

Well if I didn't allow it my kids wouldn't have a dad. Don't judge someone by past actions. You don't know the exact situation cuz you weren't there.

It depends. People make mistakes... if he was in jail for sex crimes hell no. Even tho he stabbed his kin it doesn't mean he would just randomly stab people.
