39 weeks: Small gush of fluid with brownish looking blood?

Question

I am 39 weeks tomorrow and had a tiny bit of brown blood on my underwear last night.  I had very irregular contractions throughout the day and then a small gush of liquid tonight that went through to my pants (but not mucous) like with more brown.  Could my water have broken and should I be worried about the color?  Thanks for the help- nervous FTM

If it was your water and brown in color you need to go to the hospital because it could mean there's meconium in your water. It's not a big deal but something your doctor will need to be aware of.

you should go to the hospital, asap. the same thing happened to me a couple of days ago, and it was that my water broke (even tho it wasn't A LOT of fluid)... now, my baby is here!
